Training For A Marathon? How To Pick Clothing That Will Last
ShareRunning may not be your favorite thing to do but it's a great way to get into shape and maybe even lose some excess weight in the process. One of the best ways to get into running on a regular basis is to train for something like a marathon. Whether you do a half marathon that is 13.1 miles or a full marathon that is 26.2 miles, it's important that you invest in the proper clothing and shoes to train in. The higher quality of things that you have to train in, the more likely they are going to make your experience more comfortable. So, what kind of clothing should you invest in?
Nylon Spandex Running Tights
If you are planning on training early in the mornings, late at night, or when it's otherwise really cold outside, you will need to invest in a good pair of nylon spandex fabric running tights. Nylon spandex fabric is ideal for things like running and training because it's stretchy and breathable at the same time. The great thing about that is that it will hold you in while you run while also not chafing because of the sweat. If you are planning on running at least 5 days a week, then make sure you invest in at least two pairs of these running tights so that you can wear them every day.
Exercise Bra
For female runners, don't forget to think about the breast support you will need while training. If you start running a in a bra that doesn't have a lot of structure or support, it can lead to both breast and back pain. Look for a bra that has enough support in the front and the back so that you don't feel like anything is moving around when you run. Also, look for a bra that's made of the same spandex nylon fabric as the running tights because it will be breathable and flexible during your big runs.
Running Shoes
Your shoes are the most important thing that you will invest in when you start training. Make sure that you start your training out with new shoes so that your feet can get acclimated to them far before your race. The last thing you want to do is try out a new pair of shoes on race day because they may rub or give you blisters. When choosing a running shoe, go to a specialty running store that will custom fit you for shoe based on how you run.
